Four Hot Venues in Madrid
Madrid is one of the European capitals with an active nightlife. The Latin character and the fact that winter temperatures are not as extreme as in northern and central Europe ensure that both visitors and locals enjoy lively evenings.

The live music venues are very numerous, and offer a variety of styles. We are going to recommend four places where you can go to have a good time, either with your partner or a group of friends.
Marula Café
To start off we’ll visit one of the most fashionable spots in Madrid, the Marula Café. This young initiative has a great weekly schedule of activities. And it’s a meeting point for lovers of funk music. It is situated in the popular La Latina district and more specifically at Calle Caños Viejos 3. The modern decor and the small size of the place make Madrid’s Marula Café an ideal place to spend an evening with friends. You can see the schedule of events on their official website.
El Junco
The second stop on our tour takes us to El Junco. It’s one of the small joints in the Spanish capital where you can enjoy an evening of jazz, blues, soul, funk, among other styles. It can also boast of hosting some of the best DJs in the city, who you’ll want to hear if you are interested in getting a feeling for the local nightlife. And if you check out their listings you might even find out about some of their theme nights such as the Rockabilly evenings. The Junco is located in Plaza Santa Barbará 10, near Calle Genoa. On weekends the club’s hours are extended into the wee hours of the morning.
Bogui Jazz Club
We now turn to Calle Barquillo 29, in the heart of the Spanish capital, to go to the Bogui Jazz Club. This jazz venue offers concerts every weekend, and late sessions at Bogui Nights continue until dawn. In 2011, the restaurant received the Award for Quality Entertainment. Since its opening in 2005, it has become a reference point in the national jazz scene. One can even find references to this club in international media. All of the entertainment guides recommend this venue, and we would have to agree.
Sala Clamores
In the neighborhoods of Chamberí and Malasaña we find the Sala Clamores. Open since 1981, it was born during the countercultural Madrilenean movement and it has retained the spirit of this time. Go there to enjoy live music, mostly jazz but sometimes also other styles. It’s really one of the most authentic venues in Madrid and a good time is practically guaranteed at Clamores. Go soak in the Bohemian atmosphere and experience something new. It is located in Calle Albuquerque 14.
These are our four suggestions to fully enjoy the nightlife of Madrid. Check out these four hotspots for live music, good dance music and drinks with friends.
For a moderate price you can rent at Only apartments Madrid and stay in a comfortable home away from home in the center of the city. It´s much better and more affordable than staying in a hotel.
