When we travel we worry so much about everything that we forget to make a small list of places to visit, the activities we want to do and events we can attend. To make life easier if you have prepared a trip to Madrid this year, we will provide data on five events to be held this 2012.

Remember that Madrid is full of entertaining scenarios, You only need to go out to find a nightclub and live music with interesting bands, there are theaters and film releases throughout the year, and museums are living spaces that exhibit works of world-class artists.

Between the 15 and 19 of February the International Contemporary Art Fair ARCO, which takes place in Halls 8 and 10 of the Feria de Madrid will happen. Admission Friday and Saturday costs € 18.40 and on Sunday € 19.30.

One of the great sights you can not miss is the XII Contemporary Scene Festival. Theater, dance, film, performance, circus, books, workshops and installations are part of the scenarios that the festival promotes until the 20th of  February. Activities take place in different areas, you can find some of them at La Casa Encendida, the Centro Arte Dos de Mayo, the Triangle Hall the Reina Sofia Museum and Matadero Madrid, among 18 different places for activities.

Another good event is the concert by the British band Coldplay, to be held on May 20 at the Vicente Calderon Stadium, at 20:00. The alternative rock band was founded in 1996 in London. The group consists of Jon Buckland on guitar, Chris Martin vocals, guitar and keyboards, Guy Berryman on bass and Will Champion on drums. The have distinguished themselves by being against the use of their music in any advertising campaign and support initiatives such as Amnesty International, the campaign for the Palestinian people’s right to live in their territory (through the album Freedom for Palestine) among other initiatives for a better world. Tickets are priced between 83 € and 91 €.

The International Documentary Festival of Madrid Documenta 2012, is organized by the Madrid City Council and aims to disseminate and promote the documentary. This proposal seeks promoting the aesthetic of reality with innovative and new forms of film language, projected in theaters, publications, exhibitions and training workshops to be held between the 4th and 13th of May.

Rock in Rio Madrid 2012 is one of the most important musical events in the world that brings to Spain the best bands in rock music. Five days of great music and emotions that begin on June 29 and end on July 7. To get tickets, they must be purchased each day and cost €65 per day. Children under 16 must attend with a responsible person and disabled people have a special place in the City of Rock.
